I have a Reputation to uphold!

Silent here. In general, I don't like to speak about my profession to 'outsiders', but there is an expectation among others that I'd like to set straight.

I have a reputation to uphold!

Saying that may mean nothing to those around me, especially when they figure out that I have a membership in the regional guild. BUT, I DO have honor/reputation, whatever you want to call it and not just with thieves!

So long as it is in my best interest, I will NOT, repeat, will NOT steal from my friends. Of course that list is VERY small. But at this time, it does consist of a few fellows who haven't seemed to die off yet, most of them knowing me for the last 20 or so years (off and on). Unfortunately, that has led to a slight bit of uneasiness when it comes to 'shinys'. Just means I have to be a little more upfront with my dealings with them. I can live with that for now and when it doesn't suit, I'll move on to a different venture.

Until then, I'll try to keep them alive.

DnD Miniatures

So, my son and I picked up a starter pack for the DnD Miniatures game today. I've been looking to expand my selection of mobs at the game table and at $30 for the starter pack and one booster, I figured that I'd see how it played. What could go wrong?

Let me preface this with the fact that my son has never played DnD before. And yet in the three short games that we played together this afternoon in our kitchen, my son not only manage to beat me each time, but he trounced me and mocked me with a little "wa wa waaa" while he was killing off my warband. Oh, and he's five.

Introductions

Hi, my name is Mitch and I am currently the acting DM for our bi-weekly Dungeons and Dragons group. I've been running with this group for about a year and a half now, mostly on the PC side of the fence, but occasionally as DM when our group founder is out of pocket. I'd just rather be playing, and I'm the guy that's willing to run things if that's what it takes. As for the rest of our group:

Tim
Our group founder, main DM for our 3.5 adventures, and the last remaining member of the original group. Currently on hiatus due to Real Life.

Gus
The first half our game-night hosts (thanks again guys!). Gus is usually our party tank, and no matter what type of character he plays, he's going to bring some special flavor to the party.

Becky
The second half of our game-night hosts. She puts up with us playing DnD in a room downstairs till the wee hours of the morning, makes a mean spicy eggplant and sausage pasta dish, and all around great person. She's also the party Rogue, and generally not to be trusted around un-looted corpses. Oo

Daniel
We managed to recruit Daniel after he heard Gus and I talking about the game at work. He's tried a couple of character types since he's started, and seems to have settled with a Monk (3.5) and a Warlock (4.0).

Chris
Chris we managed to bring in (with another player who's name will not be mentioned) for the last adventure that I ran with the group while Tim was doing his coaching gig. He's an all around solid player, and we're happy to have him in the group.

Miguel
Miguel is new to the group (having only played one session at the time of this post), and is our current party Cleric.

Well, that's the group. I'm going to try to keep this updated with a player game log, and I might even get some of the other players to post too. We'll just have to see how that goes.
